ASTM Worldwide has introduced the launch of its fourth pupil chapter on the Florida Institute of Expertise (FIT) on October 2, 2023. Kathie Morgan, ASTM President, and William Ells, Chair, ASTM Board of Administrators, participated within the chapter’s digital kickoff occasion.
The coed chapter is a three way partnership between FIT and ASTM’s additive manufacturing applied sciences committee (F42). Sayed Ehsan Saghaian, Assistant Professor, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, would be the new college advisor for the brand new FIT chapter.
ASTM says that college from the FIT Division of Mechanical and Civil Engineering had expressed an curiosity in launching an ASTM pupil chapter in collaboration with F42 to assist develop FIT’s educational and analysis packages within the AM area.

ASTM launched its pupil chapter program in 2018. Pupil chapters have been fashioned at Florida Worldwide College; the College of Engineering and Expertise in Lima, Peru; and the College of Central Lancashire in the UK.
