At its coronary heart, the KT84 is an 84-key mechanical keyboard, that includes the same old options you’d count on to see in such a factor: N-key rollover, hot-swappable switches, RGB LED backlighting, and a alternative of black or white instances. There’s an inner 8Ah lithium battery, permitting it for use both wired or by way of proprietary 2.4GHz or Bluetooth wi-fi connections — the latter two providing a claimed 110 hours of operation with the backlight off, or 22 hours with it on.
What makes the KT84 fascinating is not the keyboard itself, although, however what’s above it: a pair of shows, together with what Machenike calls a “pixel display.” Constructed round a 7×70 array of RGB LEDs, the 490-dot show — measuring 6.9″ in an ultra-wide side ratio — is designed to be programmed with the consumer’s alternative of pixelated animations.
